Suluban Beach

People know of Padang Padang and Dreamland beaches but many may not realise that there is this secluded spot Suluban Beach in Uluwatu that is accessible down some 40 metres of steps from Thomas Home Stay B & B. Even on high tides when the surf is up, the beach with white sand is still accessible. Actually Suluban Beach extends right up to Uluwatu Beach, close to Bluepoint Bay Hotel but this side is the public and crowded side catering to the surfers. So for those who want to enjoy an exclusive beach experience, this is one great find. Its also most delightful to wade through during low tides as water receeds some 200 metres exposing rocks and seaweed farms. Also you’ll get to see locals fishing.

Serangan Beach

Serangan Beach is located 5 km southern part of Denpasar Town and the beach it self is located at Serangan Island that has been exploited and designed as a resort area. however the projects are delayed whereas. Serangan owns a beautiful beach and the good high wave, It was many surfers have experienced this place, which makes them enjoy surfing. Warung or small cafes to serve the seafood are also available in this area. Please visit more about Serangan Beach.

Medewi Beach

Medewi Beach is a beautiful beach area located near the village of Pulukan in West Bali. Medewi lies in the middle of Bali at a distance of about 75 km from Denpasar and 34 km west of Tabanan. A small and remote tourist spot, Medewi Beach is regarded as one of Bali’s premier surfing destinations. This place is little far from Kuta and there is hardly any night life in this area. This is one of the reasons why Medewi Beach never becomes over crowded by tourists. The best time to surf here is early in the morning before the atmosphere becomes windy. The wave current of the water is mostly light here and the waves are easiest, which makes it an ideal spot for amateur surfers.

Labuan Sait Beach

Labuan Sait Beach is located a few kilometers north of Uluwatu temple facing the Indonesian Ocean. From the parking lot, visitors must walk through a corridor along the 60-meter cliff and came to a beautiful beach “Labuan Sait” . This white sand and clean beach and quiet, so it is very suitable for recreation, relaxation and sun bathing and also of course very suitable for surfing. The local fishermen also provide rental jukung for those who want to get around to see unspoiled natural beauty on the southern Bukit peninsula. As a tourist, this place also there are already some tavern and restaurant. So the full right, his holiday on the coast of Labuan Sait.

Kuta Beach

With a long broad Indian Ocean beach-front, Kuta was originally discovered by tourists as a surfing paradise. It has long been a popular stop on the classic backpacking route in South East Asia. Back in the 1980s they used to talk about the three Ks: Katmandu in Nepal, Khao San Road in Bangkok and Kuta. Today Kuta still attracts some hardcore backpackers as well as families and tourists from all over the world, and is most notably a playground for young visitors from Australia. Due to the ever increasing popularity of Bali, Kuta is continually developing, and is not short of unsightly, poorly planned buildings. It can come across at times to be chaotic, overcrowded and congested. However, amongst all the mayhem this place somehow works, and hundreds of thousands of visitors enjoy their time in Kuta every year.

Infrastructure has come a long way in Kuta, although it is still insufficient for the amount of visitors who stay in the area. Some side alleys still have significant potholes and road rules still don’t mean very much. Most roads are constantly busy with motor scooters, metered taxis and private cars. Instead of using signals, locals and the seasoned travellers honk their motor vehicles to signal overtaking or squeezing into a tight spot near you. Oftentimes cars fold in their side mirrors when negotiating narrow single lanes with parked vehicles. Now you can access free wifi in local convenience stores, restaurants, cafes and hotels. There are half a dozen prepaid mobile phone sim cards available everywhere with competitive top up plans. Touts will persistently try to get to buy something from them, whether you’re walking on the streets or seated in a restaurant.

The five km long sandy stretch of Kuta is arguably the best beach front in Bali. The beach is safe, partially clean, well-maintained, although the beach vendors remain annoying pushing massages, hair braiding, cigarettes and surf boards. The long wide stretch of sand is often full of sunbathers and although most of the serious surfers have moved on to newer pastures, there are still plenty of surf dudes around at most times of the year, and especially so during peak season. As you move north along the beach to first Legian and then Seminyak and Petitenget it becomes progressively quieter and less frenetic.

Keramas Beach

Mention Keramas Beach to any of the top world tour surfers and it would be hard to find one that won’t smile and recount memories of a great session there. Keramas is also very popular with novice to intermediate surfers. By comparison to such well-known surf spots like Uluwatu that was first surfed in the 70’s, Keramas is a newborn baby. Most of the local and international professional surfers that come to Keramas to surf was began in 2000. A funny thing about the name Keramas, if you look up the word “keramas” in an Indonesian dictionary you’ll find that it translates into the word “shampoo”, which would sort of make sense when you think about waves and whitewater churning about.

But the original name of the area was in fact Kuramas, the Golden Turtle, coming from the combination of “kura “ which means turtle and “mas” which means “gold”, as long ago turtles would come to bury their eggs in the warm black sand. Later the name changed into Keramas, the Golden Monkey (from “kera” which means “monkey” and the “mas” still meaning gold), but where those monkeys went and why remains a mystery. But what is indeed no mystery is that Keramas Beach has rapidly become one of biggest superstars on great surf spots in Bali.

Dreamland Beach

Dreamland Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Bali. It is located in the Southern Peninsular of Bali, south of Bali airport and about 30 minutes from Kuta Center. Dreamland Beach is also known as New Kuta Beach but don’t be fooled by the name. This is not anywhere near the busy Kuta Center where the famous Kuta Beach is. It is located near Jimbaran, next to a resort area known as “Pecatu Indah Resort”, South of Bali airport. Dreamland Beach has soft white sand and the beach is cleaner than the beaches in the main tourist areas.

It is great to sit there and watch the wonderful surf and activity. Also the sunset is spectacular here. To enjoy the beach, it is best if you stay in the area as it is not within walking distance from Kuta Center. Consider spending a night or two at the Best Western New Kuta Condotel, just a few minutes from the beach. Within the resort area are an 18 hole golf course and restaurants. Nearby attractions include Uluwatu temple, Jimbaran Beach where you can enjoy delicious fresh grilled seafood, the GWK (Garuda Wisnu Kencana) Cultural Park, and Bali Collection shopping complex in Nusa Dua.
